I also got a toy from the 1950's for my mom for Christmas. I can't post a photo or reveal the price for obvious reasons, but it is a GREAT find in EXCELLENT condition!

Great finds in Fredericksburg! I have wanted a cast iron skillet for a long time and this one is seasoned well! I decided that I am going to re-do my kitchen in the crazy daisy/spring blossom pyrex collection from the 70's and this was a great starter piece! That beautiful scarf is going to be turned into a scarf dress for me!!

Impromptu picnic

One of my favorite things about summer is impromptu family excursions. Tonight, I just wanted to get out of the house and have a dinner picnic while also entertaining little man.

Made 'Breakfast Cakes'

{recipe below}

{try not to be jealous of my 1960's counter tops- i know it is really hard ;-) }

Breakfast Cakes

You will need:

1 package of turkey sausage

1 package of reduced fat cream cheese

2 packages of reduced fat crescent rolls

Directions:

Preheat oven per crescent rolls directions. Open crescent rolls and leave in rectangles {meaning, do not break apart into individual triangles. You should have four per package}. Set aside on a nonstick cookie sheet. Brown the sausage in a skillet until done. Drain really well {if you dont get all the grease drained, the cakes will be mushy and you dont want that do ya?}. Return ground turkey sausage to skillet and put back on low heat. Add the cream cheese and stir until just melted and mixed in with sausage. Take off oven and divide mix between the 8 rectangles, putting filling on the bottom half of the rectangle. Fold the top of rectangle down over mix and push sides together to seal. Bake per crescent rolls directions, just until golden brown. ENJOY!

We decided to go to a nearby harbor and let little man play on the splash pad. Here is the lovely picnic we enjoyed, and swatted the flies away from:

 

During the picnic, little man decided he needed to go potty on the ground {LOL}, and we didnt get there quite fast enough to stop him! He He!!

I am so in love with my family! What a great family night out... and it was free! 

One Month

I cannot believe that my little bug is already one month! To think that last month I was giving birth, unaware of how my life would be changing in the most beautiful way possible. Having two precious boys is almost too much to bare sometimes. Their cuteness is too much sometimes! I feel like this month has flown by and I already feel like he is getting too big!!

A bit about my doodlebug...

• He is such a flirt! When I am nursing him, he smiles and tilts his head at me with those cute glittery eyes!
• He fell into a schedule so quick! Maybe around week 2?? He eats every 2.5-3hrs and sleeps in between each feeding! He started sleeping "through the night" at week 3 {12am-6am}! 
• He is such a quiet, content baby and rarely cries. {we actually have had no tears yet} He grunts when he is hungry or tired and is such an easy baby. 
• He loves his swing and bouncer, and already has the bouncer figured out. He grabs at the monkey to make it play music and is so pleased with himself. 
• He is very strong. He started holding his head up in the hospital, just like little man, and has already mastered rolling side to side. 
• He is such a good nurser, and loves {!!} to eat!
• Cloth diapering a newborn was way easier than I anticipated and I love using the tiny little prefolds.
•  Little man is smitten and love to give big {sometimes a tad too big} hugs and sweetly says "I love my braver!"
• He sleeps in a sweet moses basket and I LOVE IT!! I cannot believe I didn't have one with little man, and am so thankful to my Aunt that bought it. I didnt have it on my registry and would never have even thought to ask for it! 

We are so in love, and cannot even remember life before him!

Block Party

Dear friends of our live in a near by neighborhood and invited us to their cute little block party. We had so much fun! It is nice to live in a tight-knit community like that. The older ladies were lovin' on my kiddos, and they couldn't have loved it more!

Little man got to go up in a fire truck!! This probably made his day life!!

He had this wonderful woman make him a camo backpack thing that the kiddos loved!

GOOOOAAAALLLL!

Ok, not really, but little man has started soccer! A rec center around the corner teaches begging soccer for $15 a week!! He goes on Tuesdays and Thursdays and is really thriving. He is one of the quickest out there and is picking up on ball dribbling quick.
