32 Weeks Pregnant!

Here I am!! 32 weeks pregnant and feeling every one of them!!

This has been a super eventful month here! We have had some pregnancy scares as of late, and right now consider it pure joy that we are still pregnant!

It all started Monday {3/22} night during dinner. I whipped up a super yummy dinner and not two bites in felt overly full/hot/sickish. I excused myself and decided that a shower may help calm me down so I don't get sick. I took a shower and realized quickly that I still felt horrible. This time, it was if doodlebug was pushing with all four limbs super hard against the inside of my uterus. I sat in one of our recliners with a pillow behind my back and my sweet husband started to rub my tummy. This usually helps doodlebug get back in the middle and remove his limbs from almost pushing right out of me, but this time I just felt fire with every touch. My whole tummy was starting to tense up and I knew something was wrong. My husband told me to try to lay down in our bed- that made things worse! When I got up from the bed, all the pain started to localize to my lower right abdomen and lower right back. I screamed "what side is your appendix on????" My husband said "the right," and it hit me. If my appendex needs to come out, how will they get it out without taking the baby?!? The pain started to shoot down my right leg, making it numb, and was so intense I started crying. I knew in my heart of hearts something was very wrong and was scared to death we were going to be delivering a baby at 31 weeks.
My sweet little man is starting to freak out at this point and sets in my lap holding my mouth saying "no more sad mama, no more sad!" I really tried to hold it together as my husband called the hospital to find out what it could be and what to do, but the pain was getting worse. The hospital said to come in, so we called some sweet friend that live right around the corner from us to come watch little man {at this point it is almost 9 and he really needs to be in bed}. As we pull out of the driveway I start to cry. It was as if I looked at little man and knew it was the last time he would see me- yes, i really thought I was going to die.
We get to the hospital, and lucky us- we get the nurse with the greatest bedside manner ever!{extreme sarcasm} Test, after test, after test we discover that the baby {who most hangs out in the right side of my uterus} has stretched that baby supporting ligament so thin, that with one big kick made a tear where it connects. In my head I just couldn't believe THAT was why I was in so much pain- like more pain than labor pain! She told me that it can be one of the most painful things ever, and gives me a mild pain medicine shot in my hip.
By this time, I have now started having contractions. The nurse rolls me over to my side to get the baby's heart rate back up. The contractions were starting to get to be only a minute apart. She then comes in with a shot of terbutaline to stop the labor. {the shot feels like fire entering your body and burns for quite some time} This doesn't seem to be working and she comes in with round 2, administering another terbutaline shot. When she comes in to check on me again and I am still having contractions one minute apart {this is going on 4hrs now!} she explains to me that this is the last terbutaline shot she can give. I was like, then what do we do then?? She told me that there is only so much they can do to stop labor, and when the baby is ready, he will come. I started to panic. I did not want to have a 31 week baby and we were no where ready! Thankfully the last shot seemed to be slowing things down and at about 5am, we were able to go home. I felt like I had been in a car accident. Every single muscle hurt all over my body and I was so exhausted I could barely walk.

After the big labor scare, 3 days go by and I lose my mucus plug. WHAT??? But thankfully an emergency dr's appt confirms that I am OK and that although my cervix is softened and the baby is head down {and has been since 30weeks} that my cervix is still closed and she thinks I will be okay and make it to a safer week!

This month I was also put on phenergan for the intense nausea. I am proud to say that I have not been sick in about 3 weeks!! I have only gained 20lbs this pregnancy and hope to keep that number low!

I had my baby shower {be looking for photos} and it was such a sweet celebration of our little doodlebug. I was overwhelmed with love and am convinced I have the best friends/family in the world!
