REWARD
Today marked little man's second (yes i said second- so what? I like his curls and i hear the mullet is coming back..LOL) haircut and was time to say goodbye to those sweet curls. If you remember, he didn't have a haircut until his first birthday and since his big 2nd birthday party is coming up we thought there was no time like the present. {and yes it might have had a little something to do with last weeks WW post where i even referred to him as "little man," but just about every other comment said "she!" LOL!}
He didn't want to sit by himself, so i had to cape myself up (you know- dress up like the super woman we as mothers are) and sat him in my lap. The freak out began as she sprayed water on his head.
"What were you thinkin' mama?? You KNOW this child hates to be sprayed! Here he is, already afraid of this crazy lady in this cheap sailboat themed barber shop holding scissors (!?!) and you let her spray him??" ....wow my mom radar was off...
He eventually warmed up a bit and let her quickly cut just an inch off his curls. I wanted her to keep some of them- I am not ready to let go of the "baby" still in him! He did manage to raid her drawers however. Those guards were "blocks" for the time being...LOL.
After the torture, we thought we would finally let him get on the carousel at a local mall. He has been throwing a fit over that thing our last few visits and unfortunately we have been in time crunches a lot lately. We walk up upon closing and begged the poor lady to keep it open for us. And yep, you guessed it....

OMG not the curls!! My Pickles Magoo has hair like that and I can't wait to grow it out. Then he will look like a little surfer dude!! So so cute! Thanks so much for stopping by. I am your newest follower!!
he is getting so big. i do have a wrap and love it. i really like ur store and can't wait to buy from you.
that poor kid! that must have been a day of torture for him!!
What cute curls!! So said to cut them off. My son recently turned 2 and has yet to need a hair cut... Poor boy has very thin hair. He may finally need one soon. He has a little bit of curl in the back.
Oh, he looks so handsome - before AND after! I am a fan of the curls, too....my son has them but we figured for summer we'd give him a "summer" cut....well, my husband did it and while it looks okay, the front kinda looks a little like "dumb and dumber" Lol!! Thankfully hair grows! :-)
Sunnyboy has never had a haircut yet, but I'm tempted to take him to the hairdressers after seeing how smart your little cutie looks :)
So cute, what a great set of pictures to remember a great day by:)
Looks like he grew up in the short little bit of sitting on your lap!
I think he looked adorable before and after. But I bet he was really excited about the treat afterwards!
My son kept his curls like that until he was two. I finally had to have his hair cut because everyone thought he was a girl and my husband was annoyed. lol
Eli finally stopped crying after about his 6th haircut, so there's hope...it'll be nothing soon. then it'll be the dentist you'll have to get him not to cry through. But he looks so adorable with his new haircut! LOVE IT!
Awww.... I remember when we cut our son's hair for the first time (actually, DH did and I tried to make sure he didn't scream). He had a head full of curls too.
Haven't tried going out to a professional to get his haircut though...I'm not brave enough =)
He looked handsome before and after...love the curls. Too bad he didn't enjoy his reward!
What a cutie!!!! Looks like he did well with the haircut, even if that woman sprayed him. :)
I cut Sam's right before his 2nd birthday, too!! His only gets curlier with every cut. (It's some awesome hair.)
Looks like a fantastic 2nd birthday!!!!
